I’m superbly located in one of the most historic and highly sought after streets in Prospect. My street is full of classic 1880’s villas the architecture of which, is considered to be unique to Clifton Street. In my hay day I had a beautiful stone fronted façade (most likely Mt Lofty or sandstone) beautiful stone side walls (most likely limestone or Mt Lofty stone) striking ornate concave verandah with ornate lacework and timber balustrading, ornate caste iron and masonry front fence etc. Sadly for me and this historic precinct these are all gone (including my original front windows) either plastered/cemented over or removed by my previous owners, a likeable pair of bachelor brothers who thought it was a good idea!! All is not lost though, as now I’m for sale I’m hoping for an enthusiastic new owner who will restore and reinstate me to my former glory. It can be done! To see how good I once looked and how good you could make me look again check out my neighbours at 4, 10, 16 and 18 Clifton Street where you’ll find just a few of these classic 1880’s villa residences. I currently comprise original arched entry hall, 3 double bedrooms (could be 4 if needed) formal living room, north facing family room and eat in kitchen, sunroom (added many years ago to the side of the residence) laundry and bathroom. Some of my original period features remain including my high ceilings, open fireplaces, skirting boards and baltic pine floors. I am very liveable with ducted evaporative cooling, gas space heating and security. I have a large covered outdoor north facing entertaining area, garage and garden shed. You’ll have to spend time and money on me if you want me to reach my full potential but it will be worth it when its finished to have joined the elite group of fortunate people who reside in this historic precinct in these classic, unique villa residences. P.S. when you step out your front door your just a minute away from the fabulous Prospect Road ‘High Street’ with all its better living amenities, as well as being an easy walking distance to North Adelaide and the city. Reap the rewards. Auction Thursday 23rd December 2021 at 5:30pm (unless sold beforehand) scheduled inspections Sunday 12th December 3:30-4pm. Wednesday 15th December 6-6:30pm.
