A beautiful coastal town, Port Macquarie is situated around 390 km on the northern side of Sydney. This town is located on the eastern side of Oxley Highway, near the mouth of Hastings River and on Tasman Sea Coast. The city, along with its many suburbs, has a population of 47,973, according to the census of June 2018.

Places of Attraction Port Macquarie has several beaches, including Miners Beach, Oxley Beach, Rocky Beach, North Shore, Town Beach, and Nobbys beach. History of Port Macquarie In 1818, the Europeans visited the site for the first time. John Oxley had reached the area as he set on an exploration journey. The area is also famed for being the region where sugarcane was cultivated for the first time. Port Macquarie was opened to settlers for the first time in 1830. Settlers preferred the place mainly due to fisheries opportunities, timber sources and pastoral land. There are many heritage sites in the city, including St. Thomas Anglican Church, Lake Innes House Ruins, Port Macquarie Government House and more.
