Overview Albion Park is a suburb nestled in the southern part of New South Wales. Stationed within the Macquarie Valley, it is part of Shellharbour City and is one of the three Wollongong local government areas. A couple of streets traverse within the area, including Terry Street, Tonggara Road, and Princes Motorway. The Frazer Creek also passes from the north, stretching to other spots in the suburb. Based on the 2016 demographic data, the population in the suburb is 21,381.
Living in Albion Park Albion Park is a leafy neighbourhood on the south with a lot of residential homes and commercial areas. Green spaces mostly surround the western and southern portions. Plus, there’s an abundance of recreational facilities, outdoor areas, and sporting grounds, along with clubs, pubs, and restaurants. History of Albion Park Albion Park’s history started in 1821 when a section of the suburb was granted to Samuel Terry; a former convict turned into one of the territory’s richest men. During this period, he owned Terry’s Meadows Estate. The area was subsequently inherited by Terry’s nephew, John Terry Hughes, who later renamed Albion Park. From then, the suburb flourished with timber as its primary industry. This growth, however, halted in 1887 because of the establishment of the railway line.
