Overview Albion is a residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located 5 km north of central Brisbane on Sandgate Road and bounded on its southwest by Breakfast Creek. The suburb shares boundaries with Ascot in the East, Wooloowin in the North, Newstead in the South, and Windsor to the West. In the 2016 census, it had a population of 2,296 people.

The suburb has many heritage-listed sites, including Abbotsford Road Bridge, Early Cottage, Herberton Cottage, Dunaverty, Holy Triad Temple, Albion Building, and more. Albion has no schools, but the nearest ones are in neighbouring Windsor, Wooloowin, Clayfield, and Ascot. The suburb is well-connected and serviced by Albion railway station. The suburb is ideal for families with kids, singles, and professionals.

History of Albion The name Breakfast Creek came from Breakfast Point - a rocky point named by John Oxley, an explorer. He came to explore the Brisbane River in 1823 and named the downstream side of the creek Breakfast Creek. The suburb was named Albion after the Albion Hotel built by Thomas Hayseldon. Albion was an old name for England and came from the Latin word Albus which means white. In 1885-86, many Chinese migrants settled in the area and built the Temple of the Holy Triad. In 1899, Breakfast Creek Sports-ground was opened and in 1890, Breakfast Creek State School was established.
