Overview Ambarvale is a suburb of south-western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located 55 km southwest of the Sydney central business district and lies in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown and part of the Macarthur region.

Living in Ambarvale Ambarvale is mainly a residential suburb with a mix of public and private housing. Most of the houses are detached buildings while others are walk-up flats. Most of the old buildings in the suburb were constructed in the 1970s and 1980s. Ambarvale is close to everything with facilities such as shops, hospitals, a local pool, etc. The suburb is great for young families as it has plenty of schools in and around and beautiful parks. Housing is affordable, and some new residential developments are also going on. As far as transportation is concerned, MacArthur railway station is located just north of the suburb and connects Sydney CBD and Campbelltown Liverpool.

History of Ambarvale Ambarvale has a rich history that dates back to 40,000 years ago when the Tharawal people inhabited it. There are still marks of these people in the form of cave paintings, rock engravings, shell middens, and grinding grooves. The suburb was named after a property established by former convict Samuel Larkin in 1816. Helens Park is located in the same property, and Ambarvale was one of the earliest properties. It was a dairy farm called Glen Lora, and in 1972, the farms were sold for residential development.
