Overview Bargara is a suburb nestled in the coastal region of Bundaberg, Australia. Located north of Brisbane, this eastern town serves as Bundaberg’s satellite locality. Interestingly, it settles on a continuous area, together with Nielson Park. However, these two are officially distinct towns, having sugar cane fields as the dividing line from the other centre. In 2016, the suburb had a reported number of 7 485 residents.
Living in Bargara Bargara is a beachside town featuring Bauer Street and The Esplanade as its major roads. The former is fringed with a number of restaurants, local shops, and hotels. The latter, on the other hand, covers the Bargara Beach shoreline, together with an array of rental accommodations and facilities.

History of Bargara Bargara was once called Sandhills. In 1913, it was changed into Bargara, which originated from the two neighbouring localities―Barolin and Woongarra. One of the earliest structures in the area is the Sandhills Provisional School or the Bargara State School. This was built back in 1893. More establishments were developed over the years, including the Bargara Post Office, Bargara Golf Club Bargara, and Beach Plaza, among others.
