Bilinga is nearby the suburbs of Coolangatta and Tugun in the City of Gold Coast and the suburbs of Cobaki Lakes, Tweed Heads West, and Tweed Heads in New South Wales.
Bilinga is on the western border of New South Wales and is bordered on the east by the Pacific Ocean. On the southern tip of the Gold Coast, this suburb is part of the local government area of the City of Gold Coast.

History of Bilinga The name Bilinga is believed to have been derived from the Yugambeh Aboriginal word "Bilinba", which means bats. In 1918, Bilinga was adopted as the name for Crown lands.
