History of Carters Ridge There is not much written about the locality's history, except about a local school that once operated here. The said school was opened in 1925 after the parents in the town petitioned for an educational facility to open in the area. The locals requested to name the school River View, but it was called Cater's Ridge, with Carter being the name of the chief owner of the land.
However, in the 1960s, the school was forced to close permanently due to the low number of pupils. Students since then attended school in the town of Cooroy, which is 18 kilometres away from Carters Ridge.
