History Crace is a suburb of Canberra, Australia in the district of Gungahlin. Streets in Crace are named after parishes and land divisions from colonial times. It is bounded by the Barton Highway, Gundaroo Drive, Nudurr Drive and Gungahlin Drive. Located in the suburb is the Canberra Nature Park of Gungaderra Grasslands nature reserve. With a population of about 4,000 people. Crace was developed in the 1960s and was built on land that was once part of the Central Mangrove Swamp.In 1962, Crace was subdivided by developers William and Charles Bader to create a residential area for Canberra's burgeoning population. The suburb's name comes from the geographical location of it being at the "end of the racecourse", which is where William Bader lived.
