As a result, the area experiences a couple of snowfalls every winter. Its surrounding suburbs and villages include Binda, Lost River, Grabben Gullen, Bannister, Pejar, Roslyn, and Laggan.

Living in Crookwell Crookwell is a quiet locality that is cornered by scenic villages. Most of the houses and commercial establishments are found at the centre. The closest city to the town is Goulburn, which is approximately half-an-hour drive. Since the area is focused on rural industries, most of the locals depend on potato farming. Accordingly, the community shelters the first-ever wind farm in the region. Others also opt to work in nearby towns. Transportation is relatively easy because there are plenty of minor roads that link to other localities.

History of Crookwell The Gundangurra people were the traditional settlers of the area where Crookwell sits. Afterwards, the Europeans, with the supervision of surveyor James Meehan, discovered the area. Originally, the suburb was called Kiama, and it was first occupied in the 1820s. Decades later, the selection of blocks in the area happened. By the 1870s, the population had already hit 1000. In the 1940s, the place acquired loads of iron ore, which became the start of wartime steel production.
