Overview East Ballina is a coastal suburb in the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales. It is situated within the local government region of Ballina Shire. Based on the census data of 2016, 28,316 residents inhabited the area.
Living in East Ballina East Ballina is a suburb for beach lovers as it has several beaches around the area, with Angels, Shelly, and Lighthouse beach being the main ones. There are a variety of fun water activities to do, such as fishing, boating, kayaking, swimming, surfing, water sliding, and whale watching. History of East Ballina Bundjalung Aborigines had inhabited the area for thousands of years before Europeans arrived (middens on the coast are at least 2,000 years old). It was estimated that at least 500 people resided there at the time of European settlement. In the hinterland, they hunted pademelons, wallabies, bandicoots, and flying foxes before heading to the coast in September to collect shoals of salmon caught inside the surf and slain with spears.
