Living in Forestville Forestville is a quiet suburb that features a low-density residential expanse. The housing style is relatively a combination of large plots and medium-sized backyards. The community is loaded with a handful of parks, with vast bushland almost surrounding the entire suburb. There are a couple of schools around and some cafes and restaurants to dine in. The central shopping hub is located within the Forestville Village Shops near Darley and Starkey Street. In general, it is not as trendy as other neighbouring towns, but it’s a superb choice among families with kids and even retirees who prefer a more tranquil environment. Plus, it is close to various amenities and natural reserves.

History of Forestville From the name itself, Forestville represents a town in the forest. This suburb was once a profusely wooded forest before James French resided in the area in 1856. From then, timber felling became his hobby. He later acquired more land, and that’s where the Frenchs Forest earned its title. In 1920, the Frenchs Forest Settlement Post Office was established and was subsequently replaced with Forestville in 1947. And during the 1960s, the place was developed into a housing expanse.
