Overview Garfield North is a small rural location situated in Victoria State, Australia. As per the 2016 Australian 2016 census, the town had 194 individuals. It is 68km from Melbourne, and the Shire of Cardinia is the local governing body. Additionally, it is 4Km east of Bunyip and close to the Gippsland railway line.

History of Garfield North The survey for the land began in 1861, and the timber industry was started. When the railway line arrived, the region saw a boom in the timber industries and transportation sector. It further saw the establishment of the Cannibal Creek Siding. The town was renamed in 1887 to honour the President of the United States, James Garfield, who was killed in 1881.
