This suburb is home to 1,547 residents as of 2016. It is bordered by a few other suburbs such as Callemondah, Gladstone Harbour, Barney Point, West Gladstone, and South Gladstone.
Living in Gladstone Central Gladstone Central is a residential suburb that offers many facilities for its residents. It is home to the Gladstone City Library that the Gladstone Regional Council operates. It also has its own Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre that can seat up to 674 people. This venue is home to several meeting rooms, too. One of the oldest state primary schools in Queensland can also be found in this suburb – Gladstone State School – which has been around since 1861.
History of Gladstone Central Gladstone Central is derived from the name first used in 1847, soon after establishing the Port Curtis settlement. The name Gladstone was given in honour of the British Secretary of State for the Colonies: William Gladstone. The suburb of Gladstone Central was officially established in December 1988.
