It is located 5.7 km north of Mackay, 7.4 km northwest of the Mackay CBD area, and 958 km northwest of Brisbane. It has plenty of neighbouring suburbs, including Farleigh, Richmond, Mount Pleasant, Erakala, and Foulden.
Living in Glenella The suburb of Glenella is known as a mixed-use suburb as it is divided into a few areas. The residential area is focused on the east and southeast portion of the suburb. In the southeast, you will find small industrial estates. The rest of the suburb is the rural area wherein there are sugarcane plantations and grazing farms. There is also a Glenella Community Hall that the Mackay Regional Council operates. It is located at 15 Hill End Road.
