History of Golden Beach The land was previously owned by Pastoralist William Letts and named it Lett’s Beach. By the 1940s, it was renamed Paradise Beach before finally settling on Golden Beach. It was popular as the Surfers Paradise of Victoria during the 1950s. At the end of the 1960s, the subdivision of the area started, and it lured many folks from Melbourne to move into the area.
