Overview Hill Top is a suburb in the majestic Southern Highlands in New South Wales. This northern village was previously named Jellore and Hiltop. In a straight line, Yerrinbool is approximately 6-8 km away, with the Sydney CBD 115km to the northeast of Hill Top. According to the 2016 census, 2674 people reside in Hill Top.
Living in Hill Top Hill Top is a lovely semi-rural community, that lies 15km to the north of Mittagong. In Hill top you will find commercial facilities such as a pizzeria, chemist, bakery, general and liquor store, GP’s surgery, and real estate agent. It also possesses community facilities like a post office, day-care centre, fire station, primary school, community hall, church, tennis courts, and sporting fields. The shooting range of the Southern Highland Rifle is in the village. It has its cricket club named Hill Top Northern Villages Cricket Club.
History of Hill Top Previously it was onto the Main Southern Railway, but only till 1919, then the line had deviated, and with easier grades, it was in a lesser steep alignment. The Picton Loop Line became the original line that got winded up in 1978. The village’s station platform’s remains can be seen to date. 1947-1952 was when its cricket club was founded, although it was reformed twice, first in 1979-1986 and then in 1987. In 1981, its soccer team was founded.
