History Innaloo is a suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, 9 km from Perth's central business district in the local government area of the City of Stirling. Innaloo is an established residential suburb that is home to the Westfield Innaloo and Westfield Innaloo Megacentre shopping centres, and is adjacent to Perth's largest cinema complex, the 18-cinema Event Cinemas.Aboriginal people have lived in this area for many thousands of years. In 1829, an Englishman named John Haynes was granted land in Innaloo and he named it after his home town in Essex. The area became a farming community and had some progress until 1950 when it became a fringe suburb of Perth. In 1963, a housing estate was built on a former orchard called "Sea View Estate" and has since grown into a large suburb.
