Kambah was settled in 1856 by John Jefferson, who built a house on his land.It is said that Kambah is the Aboriginal word for the "place of many frogs".In 1857, there were 20 settlers living in Kambah.John Jefferson opened the first shop in Kambah.John Jefferson donated land for a school to be built in 1868.The first school started in 1870 with two classrooms.Kambah's population has grown from 20 settlers to over 4500 people.
