Overview Korora is a small but enormously scenic coastal suburb in the mid-north of New South Wales. It is located 9 km north of Coffs Harbour and 160 km north of Port Macquarie. The surrounding area is well admired for its waterways, beaches, farms, rolling countryside and tourism. Korora is best known for its coast, which is home to a stretch of beaches.

History of Korora Korora is the name of a small penguin-type aquatic, flightless bird found on the mid-north coast of New South Wales. The Gumbaynggirr people were living in Korora when Europeans arrived there. By the early 1900s, the area was an important centre for timber. With Coffs Harbour becoming an important urban principality and tourist destination with excellent transport, the suburb of Korora too grew. It became home to coastal resorts, cafes, restaurants and bars.
