Overview Korumburra is a suburb in Victoria, situated on the South Gippsland Highway, 227 metres above sea level. The town is within the LGA of the South Gippsland Shire and is located 120 kilometres southeast of the Melbourne central business district.
As per the 2016 census, Korumburra has a population of 3,639.
Living in Korumburra Korumburra is a scenic suburb surrounded by rolling green hills. It is known as the heritage centre of the region and is home to the Coal Creek Community Park and Museum. The said park has 53 exhibits set on 27 hectares of bushland.
Other amenities in the town include an Olympic pool, basketball stadium, art gallery, and golf course. Most local shops and some cafes are found in Commercial St.

History of Korumburra In the late 1800s to the early 1960s, Korumburra was an important location for black coal mining.
It was in 1884 when a post office first opened in the town, while a local railway station was opened here in 1908.
Most migrants that live here in the town are Europeans. A Croatian named Antonio Radovick is known to be the “Father or Korumburra” who was one of the pioneers who built and developed the town.
Dairying is now the major industry in Korumbura because of its fertile soils and the plenty of rainfall it receives each year. The dairy company Burra Foods operate here.
