West Ryde borders the northern section of the community while Melrose Park and Ryde surround the western and eastern portions.

History of Meadowbank It was believed that the expanse between Sydney Cove and the Parramatta River was the territory of the Wallumede clan. Together with the Chatham Farm, the land was then purchased by John Bennett in 1819.
