History of Moore Park Beach Once an Aboriginal domain, Moore Park Beach got its name from Moore, who was the proprietor of Tantitha pastoral station in the early 1880s. He had donated land for community facilities in the area. The fertile land between Yandaran Creek and Burnett River had many sugar and cattle farms. The rich and elite prefer the nearby Moore Park Beach to have their houses. By 1920, it is already a popular coastal location. Moore Park Beach grew during the 1960s and 1970s after many water sports facilities came up. The local population surged in the 1990s and schools were set up.
