History of Mount Mee The indigenous people historically inhabit the area where Mount Mee belongs. It was previously known as Dahmongah, which means “flying squirrel”. The name of Mount Mee itself is also derived from another local word that translates to “lookout”. However, the name Mount Mee was not made official until 1899.
