In 2016, Park Orchards had a population count of merely 3,823.

History of Park Orchards The Wurundjeri peoples initially nurtured the land, now called Park Orchards, before the settlement of the Europeans. Tom Petty, a Victorian orchardist, purchased hundreds of acres of land in the Mitcham district, some of which were bought and developed into a country club property by John Taylor and Australia's Sharp in 1925. The subdivision failed, and residential developments took place in the 1950s.
