Overview Raymond Terrace is a town in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. It is neighboured by the following localities: Seaham, Nelsons Plains, Millers Forest, Eagleton, Heatherbrae, Tomago, Ferodale, Campvale, and Williamtown. As of the 2016 census, the population of Raymond Terrace was 23,651.

History of Raymond Terrace Raymond Terrace was established in 1837 as a residential area. It is named in honour of Lieutenant Raymond, an explorer of the Hunter River, in 1797. The Raymond Terrace Marketplace was opened in 1998. On 29 May 2008, an Aldi supermarket opened in the suburb on the corner of Port Stephens and Kangaroo Streets. Hunter Valley Buses used to operate in Raymond Terrace until they closed down in the year 2000 and transferred their operations elsewhere.
