Overview Redlynch is a town settled in the northern section of Queensland. It is part of the Cairns region with a total population of 71,005 back in 2016. The major road in the area is the Redlynch Intake Road, which passes through the northern and southern portions. Tracing the eastern side is the Cairns Western Arterial Road.

Living in Redlynch Redlynch is a leafy suburb with most residential developments on the lower slopes. The remaining sections are largely undeveloped bushlands and stretch to the nearby Barron Gorge National Park. The location itself may be a bit far off, but this makes the place an excellent option, especially for those who are eyeing a quieter environment and picturesque nature views. The shopping centre nestles in the northern section, offering a wide variety of shops, fast-food restaurants, and cafes. There are also a handful of hotels and apartments around the area. Redlynch State School and St Andrew's College are the two major educational institutions in the suburb.

History of Redlynch Redlynch is part of Yidinji, a traditional Aboriginal expanse. As stated by Queensland Railway Department, Redlynch earned its name from a village in Wiltshire, England called Redlynch. Some also say that it originated from another village, which is Redlynch, Somerset. One of the earliest developments in the area was the Redlynch railway station. This was the first stage of the Eight Mile Camp, which was established in 1887.
