History of Running Creek Running Creek was home to many sawmills, and they no longer exist. Timber was the primary industry when it wasn’t much developed. The development of the suburb started in 1901 when Glenapp Provisional School opened. Later, It became Gleapp State School and closed in 1960. From around 1903 to 1944, the Beaudesert Shire Tramway operated between Beaudesert and Lamington. In 1994, Telemon Environmental Park was first gazetted, and it also became famous as Mount Chinghee National Park.
