Overview Saratoga is located in the south-eastern part of the Central Coast region of New South Wales as a residential suburb. It is situated on a peninsula of Brisbane Water within the Central Coast Council local government area. It is also characterised by its settled shoreline with houses extending up coastal slopes to the base of the tall hills over the peninsula.

History of Saratoga Initially utilised by some indigenous people, the area of Saratoga was first exploited by European settlers for citrus orchards. It was after John Bourke and his family settled in the area in 1863. Bourke becomes a pioneer in commercial citrus growing in the area of Brisbane Water. Sporadic buildings occurred after that, including the notable Federation-style house 'Rosemount,' built in 1917. Today, developers have transformed most of Saratoga into an outer residential suburb.
