History of Shoreham Shoreham was mostly known for being a timber export port from the surrounding regions. Earlier reports suggest that the region was covered with honeysuckles and she-oaks. Early settlers in Hastings and Balnarring were a part of wattle bark stripping. They were also responsible for cutting sleepers and piles for shipping to Melbourne. Shoreham has a Post Office, opened on the 1st of October in 1881.
