Living in Steiglitz Steiglitz offers a calm and peaceful life to its residents. It is a simple place with few amenities like the Woongoolba Bowls Club, a sports community, the Rudy Mass Marina, and a boat ramp at the Charlie Hammel Park at the far end of Cabbage Tree Point Road. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church is located at 1281 Stapylton Jacobs Well Road. Bethlehem Preschool and Kindergarten is the only school in the town of Steiglitz. The Rocky Point Sugar Mill is one of the oldest sugar mills in Australia, owned by the Heck Group, a significant contributor to the economy of Steiglitz.

History of Steiglitz The town of Steiglitz was named after Stegelitz, Germany, the home town of the pioneer family Kleinschmidt. German immigrants and families settled in this area in the 1870s. The first church in Steiglitz was built in 1882 and later replaced by The Bethlehem Lutheran Church in 1908, which was renovated in 1930. Carl Heinrich Hick established the significant Rocky Point Sugar Mill in 1878 on Mill Road.
