Overview Tarome is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region of Queensland, Australia. It is neighboured by the following suburbs: Townson, Moorang, Goomburra, Tregony, Clumber, Frazerview, Aratula, and Mount Edwards. As of the 2016 census, the population of Tarome was 3,006.
Living in Tarome Tarome is part of the Wright federal division of Queensland. The Ridgeline of the Great Diving Range is part of the Western boundary of Tarome, and the Warrill Creek flows to the northeast. The Cunningham Highway runs along the southern boundary of this locality. It is a mildly populated, tight-knit community with helpful people, with most of the residents being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent.

History of Tarome Not much is known about the history of Tarome besides the opening and closing of the first school in the locality. The Tarome State School was opened on 24 February 1915 and closed on 18 December 1992. Currently, there are no schools in Tarome.
