Overview Tiaro is a tiny little suburb situated in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland, Australia. It is located on the Mary River and is seated on the Bruce Highway. It is only 227 kilometres away from Brisbane, which makes it well connected to the roads. The key industries in this little town happen to be farming along with timber.

History of Tiaro As per belief, the word Tiaro is roughly adapted from the Kabi word, and it means ‘dead trees’. The town is believed to have taken its name from the pastoral run name back in the 1840s. There is a great Tiaro war memorial that was unveiled on 25th April 1921. It was mainly erected to celebrate the life of those who served during the First World War.
