Overview Tweed Heads is a suburb that sits on the Tweed River as part of the Tweed Shire expanse. It is one of the twin towns nestled along the border of southeastern Queensland and northeastern New South Wales. The other half of the town is Coolangatta. Outlining the southern section is the Terranora Creek, surrounding Tweed Head South, Tweed Head West, Bilambil Heights, and Banora Point. In 2016, the area recorded a population of 14,375 people.
