History in Warranwood The name “Warranwood” is a combination of two names of its adjacent suburbs, Warrandyte South and Ringwood. Before 1946, the suburb was referred to as “Croydon Heights.” The name Warranwood was suggested by a part-time resident, Mrs J. Harrison, and was accepted by the local postal authorities. The Warranwood Primary School was formerly known as the Warrandyte South Primary School and relocated from Hall Road in Warrandyte South to the suburb of Warranwood in 1996.
