Overview Woodhill is a rural suburb within the City of Logan, Queensland, approximately 57 kilometres south of Brisbane. The suburbs around Woodhill are Kagaru, Cedar Grove, Cedar Vale, Allenview, Veresdale Scrub, and Veresdale.
Living in Woodhill Much of Woodhill is still yet to be developed, and there are not many facilities in the town. However, Mont Lindesay Highway runs through north and south of Woodhill, connecting it to the nearby localities of Veresdale and Cedar Vale.
The town has its own school - Woodhill State School, which is a co-ed government primary school that offers prep to year six classes.
History of Woodhill Woodhill was a property of the Ferguson Family, where David Ferguson ran a store in the area from the mid-1870s. The store was located north of the town’s school. By 1878, Ferguson offered the store for auction, and it remained in business until 1956 as a local community hub. It was also around the late 19th century when The Wood Hill Cemetery appeared on paper (although it was known as Veresdale Cemetery at that time).
Woodhill was originally in the LGA of the Shire of Beaudesert until it became part of Logan City in 2008.
