History of Yandina A group belonging to the Gubbi Gubbi language group were the Aboriginal people living in the region for over 40,000 years. The European settlement started in the 1850s, and the town was first surveyed in 1870. It is also the first town in the Maroochy district. The Yandina Hotel was relocated using rollers and bullock team in 1891 when the first railway line passed through the region. The post office was also moved in the same year.
