Overview Adare is a rural area that occupies a portion of the Lockyer Valley Region. Located far west of Brisbane, it is 94.4 km away from the CBD. The site is cornered by Gatton Esk Roa on the east, Warrego Highway on the south, and Forestry Road on the west. The southern portion is also outlined by Lockyer Creek, which is a part of Gatton. Other nearby localities include Ringwood, Vinegar Hill, Spring Creek, and Lake Clarendon.
Living in Adare The suburb is primarily used for farming and grazing. Most of these land areas range between 100 to 150 m above sea level. The elevated section extends to the northern part, where Lockyer National Park sits. The residential portion of the town is positioned along the east. There are only a few commercial establishments around. Most facilities, shops, and restaurants are located below Lockyer Creek, within Gatton. This is also where the majority of the schools are stationed.
History of Adare The term Adare originated from one of the biggest cattle properties in Lockyer Valley during the 19th and 20th centuries; the homestead was located nearby Gatton but was later relocated in 1896. This was done by William Drayton Armstrong, one of the members of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. In 1882, the Clarendon Provisional School was established. Since the school no longer operates, the exact location of the school was undetermined. It’s believed that it is situated at the intersection of Adare, Spring Creek, and Lake Clarendon.
