Overview Bald Knob is a rural locality situated in the Sunshine Coast Region in Queensland. The town is located 78 kilometres north of Brisbane and is neighboured by the localities of Balmoral Ridge, Diamond Valley, Mooloolah Valley, Maleny, Crohamhurst, Landsborough, Crohamhurst, Peachester, and Mount Mellum. As per the 2016 census, Bald Knob has a population of 253.
Living in Bald Knob Bald Knob offers several parks, including the Bald Knob Lookout, Landsborough-Melany Road Park, MacDonalds Road Environmental Reserve, and the Upper Mooloolah Nature Refuge.

History of Bald Knob Selector Samual Burgess, around the 1890s, named bald Knob. It is believed that the locality was named from the mountain feature Bald Knob, which was a lightly forested area that stood out from the surrounding vine forest.
By 1902, a provisional school was opened in Bald Knob, which then became a state school in 1909. The school, however, closed in August 1945.
In July 1924, the Bald Knob public hall construction commenced and was completed in October that year. Richard Warren, who was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Murrumba at that time, led the opening of the town hall.
