Overview Blaxland is located within the local government region of the City of Blue Mountains in New South Wales. According to the 2016 census data, it has a population of 12,931.

The transportation is serviced by Blaxland railway station.

History of Blaxland 'Wasco' was the name given to Blaxland by John Outrim Wascoe, who owned the Pilgrim Inn license. However, this was a second Pilgrim Inn founded in Blaxland, not the original Pilgrim Inn. The first Pilgrim Inn stood at the crossroads of three early roads: Cox's Road, Mitchell's Pass, and Old Bathurst Road. In 1914, the settlement was renamed Blaxland after Gregory Blaxland, one of the first pioneers to cross the Blue Mountains.
