Overview Brown Hill lies on the eastern outskirts of Ballarat in Victoria; this suburb is on the east side of the Central Business District. The 2016 census recorded its population to be 59147. It's named after its settler, the prospector William Brownbill.

History of Brown Hill William Brownbill settled this suburb in 1851 for its first time and the Ballarat gold rush. The hills from which its name originates were previously referred to as Brownbills although the final name was 'Brown Hill.' On the 1st of December, it marks the opening of its post office. Russell Mark, who attained a Gold medal in the 1996 Olympic shooting game, was brought up at a boundary road's property.
