Living in Buxton Buxton is a small but beautiful suburb with a close-knit community as there aren’t many people out there. It has a roadhouse, a post office, a general store, a hotel, a town hall, Salmon and Trout Farm, fishing and outdoors store, a primary school, a fire station, and a nursery. It also has a few options bed and breakfasts options for visitors. The suburb is excellent for peace and green as there isn’t much population. The town is naturally beautiful and has a rural feel with houses built on specious blocks. The suburb is surrounded by natural beauty, parks, and rivers. History of Buxton The Black Saturday bushfires of 2009 badly affected the district around the town. It was such devastating that it remained isolated for several days with no power. At that time, the Marysville Police station was temporarily relocated in Buxton, and then a new station opened in 2012. In 1873, the Buxton Post Office opened, and in 1946, the Igloo Roadhouse was established. The Buxton Primary School was established in 1875, and a new building was constructed in 2012.
