Overview Cabarlah is a suburb that occupies a portion of the Toowoomba Region. This rural area is around 15 km away from the Toowoomba city centre, with the New England Highway splitting the area into eastern and western parts. Geham covers the northern section, and Fifteen Mile takes up the east. Meanwhile, Murphys Creek and Spring Bluff bound the south while Kleinton and Highfields border the west.

Living in Cabarlah The development of the Toowoomba Region paved the way for expanding its neighbouring towns, including Cabarlah. Before, the locality centred on farming, but with the suburb's growth, the focus shifted to residential construction. One of the major attractions is Black Forest Hill, a quaint shop surrounded by beautiful gardens and unique collectibles. The Borneo Barracks Golf Course is another local favourite.

History of Cabarlah Between 1860 and 1883, Cabarlah was once referred to as Five-Mile Camp. The current name was only used after establishing the Crows Nest railway line, which serviced the areas between Toowoomba and Crows Nest. It is believed that the term stemmed from an Aboriginal expression that means ring-tailed possum. However, some reports claimed the word is a native word of the neighbourhood mountains. In 1878, the Queensland Government allocated a section for the Geham Cemetery, which is currently the Cabarlah Cemetery.
