History of Condamine The European explorer Allan Cunningham crossed the river in 1827 and named it after the aide-de-camp to Governor Darling, whose surname was De la Condamine. The Tieryboo Post Office was opened in this area on 21 May 1856 and was renamed Condamine in July of the same year. The Condamine State School opened in 1863. In recent history, the residents of Condamine were forced to evacuate twice in ten days due to flooding.
