History of Crafers Crafers was named after one of its first settlers, David Crafer. David Crafer arrived in Adelaide in 1838, where he and his wife established an inn. After the success of his initial venture, he built the Norfolk Arms, an inn with a banquet seating capacity of up to 150 persons. When he moved to Adelaide, he sold the inn, but it was already known as the Crafers Inn by then. The first Crafers Primary School was first established in 1865 and was only a tiny place until the new, and now historical, stone and brick building was built in August of 1865.
