History of Donnybrook The name of the town was after the Donnybrook Parish in Dublin. The Kinlochewe post office was opened in 1850 that was along the Hume highway. It operated under the name Donnybrook before it was renamed Kalkallo in 1874. The railway line for the town was opened in 1872, after which both the village and the station were renamed Donnybrook. The closed post office was once again opened in 1889.
