It is part of the local government of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown and is located near Georges River’s northern bank. This suburb is situated around East Hills include Picnic Point, Panania, Pleasure Point, Voyager Point, Hammondville, and Sandy Point. As of 2016, East Hills has a population of 21,788.

History of East Hills Before East Hills was declared as a suburb, its name was used to refer to a larger area of land located in the southern portion of Bankstown and the eastern portion of The River Road. Robert Gardiner leased a chunk of the estate to use as farmland, which he named East Hills. In 1893, the entire land was subdivided and was called East Hills entirely, inspired by Gardiner’s land.
