Overview Epping is a Sydney suburb that is based 18 km northwest of the CBD. It is part of the city's Northern region, which the M2 Motorway outlines on its north. Other major roads include Carlingford Road, Midson Road, Ray Road, and Beecroft Road. The nearby suburbs are North Epping, Cheltenham, Marsfield, Eastwood, Carlingford, and Beecroft. As of 2016, the area has 28215 inhabitants.

History of Epping The Wallumettagal were the earliest settlers of Epping. They inhabited the section between Parramatta River and Lane Cove River. Subsequently, Governor Arthur Philip offered a portion of lands to the marines in 1792, and these areas were referred to as "Field of Mars". Through the map, it showed that Epping was part of the granted lands, together with Marsfield and Ryde.
