Overview Erina is a suburb found in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, located between Gosford and the Pacific Ocean at Terrigal. This suburb is home to the Erina Eagles rugby league team that plays in the Central Coast Premiership. It is a commercial hub and part of the local government area of the Central Coast Council. According to the census held in the year 2016, there were 4,774 inhabitants during the time.
Living in Erina Erina is a popular shopping destination and can only take about an 8-minute drive to Terrigal Beach, another 8 minutes to Gosford CPD train station, and more than 8 minutes to the M1 motorway. It is famous for its largest single-level shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere, Erina Fair, which has expanded to a multilevel with "The Hive Entertainment & Food precinct." Besides Erina Fair, it is also home to more mall shopping areas, namely the Fountain Plaza, Karalta Plaza, and Elizabeth Court.
History of Erina The name Erina stands for "a place where the initiation ceremony was held." The Garingai Aboriginal tribe originally inhabited Erina, and it was in 1888 that the government subdivided the place, and the streets were planned.
