Overview Faulconbridge is a beautiful village perched roughly 450 m above sea level in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. It is 77 km west of Sydney CBD and is sandwiched between Springwood on the east and Blue Mountains National Park on the west. Linden is also another neighbouring town located in the south. The Great Western Highway passes through the zone, along with the Sassafras Ridge Trail.
Living in Faulconbridge A scenic suburb in the west, Faulconbridge is often a famous stopover site among tourists visiting the Blue Mountains National Park. The suburb itself is loaded with many attractions, including Sir Henry Parkes Grave, Corridor of Oaks Park, Clarinda Falls, and Norman Lindsay Gallery. One of the two commercial strips in the area is stationed along Coomassie Avenue. This section is filled with local shops and restaurants. The other commercial centre is located near the railway station.
History of Faulconbridge Long before the settlement of the Europeans, the Faulconbridge expanse was already inhabited by indigenous Australians. In 1813, this signalled the start of European exploration, commencing at Lawson, Wentworth, and Blaxland. One of the original residents in the village is Sir Henry Parkes, who transferred to the area in 1877. According to some reports, it was believed that the railway platform in the town was built to serve his abode. Additionally, Faulconbridge was the maiden name of Sir Henry Parke’s mother.
